| Chris, Roy, Ned Overend, and ? at the finish. Roy used to race mountain bikes with Ned in the 80's - Roy usually hoping to keep the back of Ned's jersey in sight. Ned is 51. He finished second overall in today's race - the fast guys race - the category 1s, 2s, and pros. He was just edged out by the winner in a sprint finish. Ned held the course record in this race some 20 years ago. That time was "around 40:10" he said. His time today - "around 40:20". Lost 10 seconds in the last 20 years - really starting to slip... Did I mention that Ned is 51? Oh, and he's twice finished second in the Pike's Peak marathon and six times won the National Mountain Bike Championships. |
